Paraffinium is the lush-planet resource. It’s an uncommon localised earth element worth 62 units each, and the game’s own text says it’s “typically found on planets with a tropical environment.” You’ll want a stack of it for Aronium, Star Brambles and Exocraft Geobays.
Where to find Paraffinium
The in-game description: a “local mineral extract, typically found in large deposits or extracted from common materials after inspection with an Analysis Visor.”
So on any lush planet:
- Mine the deposits. Scan from the ground and look for Paraffinium in the resource tags, then hit the large deposits.
- Check rocks and minerals. Fandom notes it shows up as a secondary element in some minerals on lush worlds.
- Use a hotspot. Fandom lists Paraffinium hotspots on lush planets, so a mineral extractor setup there gives you a steady supply.
- Buy it. Some Galactic Trade Terminals stock it, per Fandom.
Refiner recipes that make Paraffinium
No lush planet nearby? Refine it. Every recipe here has two inputs, so use a Medium Refiner or better. They come from the site’s refining data:
| Inputs | Output | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Sulphurine + 1 Magnetised Ferrite | 3 Paraffinium | Best ratio |
| 1 Sulphurine + 1 Pure Ferrite | 2 Paraffinium | Cheaper ferrite, still good |
| 1 Silver + 1 Oxygen | 2 Paraffinium | Uses asteroid Silver |
| 1 Sulphurine + 1 Ferrite Dust | 1 Paraffinium | |
| 2 Pyrite + 1 Ferrite Dust | 1 Paraffinium | Desert planet swap |
| 2 Pyrite + 1 Pure Ferrite | 1 Paraffinium | |
| 2 Star Bulb + 1 Salt | 1 Paraffinium |
Sulphurine is gas, so you’ll need an Atmosphere Harvester or a trade terminal to bulk it up. Silver and Oxygen is the easy one if you’ve been mining asteroids and have a few Oxygen plants.
What Paraffinium is used for
Aronium, Iridesite and the Stasis Device
This is the big one. Aronium costs 50 Paraffinium and 50 Ionised Cobalt. Aronium is one third of Iridesite, alongside Magno-gold and Grantine, and Iridesite goes into the Stasis Device. Our Stasis Device guide covers the full chain.
You can also make Aronium in a refiner with three inputs: 30 Paraffinium, then either 60 Cobalt or 30 Ionised Cobalt, then 20 Tritium, 20 Silver, 10 Gold or 5 Platinum. Three-input recipes need a Large Refiner or a corvette Refiner Unit.
Farming and base parts
| Item | Paraffinium | Other inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Star Bramble | 25 | 50 Star Bulb |
| Albumen Pearl Orb | 20 | 60 Indium |
| Nomad Geobay | 50 | 5 Metal Plating, 2 Ion Battery |
| Roamer Geobay | 50 | 5 Metal Plating, 2 Ion Battery |
| Colossus Geobay | 100 | 5 Metal Plating, 4 Ion Battery |
| Sphere Creator | 100 | 5 Metal Plating, 4 Ion Battery |
| Drift Suspension | 50 | 50 Magnetised Ferrite, 1 Wiring Loom |
Star Brambles grow Star Bulbs, and Star Bulbs feed the Fusion Ignitor and Stasis Device chains. Plant a few and you stop flying to lush planets for them.
Refining Paraffinium into other things
- 1 Paraffinium makes 1 Ferrite Dust
- 2 Paraffinium + 1 Ferrite Dust or Pure Ferrite makes 1 Ammonia
- 2 Paraffinium + 1 Oxygen makes 1 Star Bulb
- 1 Paraffinium + 1 Star Bulb makes 2 Star Bulb
The Ammonia recipe is handy when you need some for an Atmosphere Harvester and there’s no toxic planet nearby.
Repairs
Some damaged slots ask for it. A Radiation Leak in a starship takes 300 Paraffinium and 20 Pugneum, and Loom Damage on a Multi-Tool takes 50 each of Pyrite, Dioxite and Paraffinium.

Yes. Sulphurine with Magnetised Ferrite gives 3 Paraffinium, Sulphurine with Pure Ferrite gives 2, and Silver with Oxygen gives 2. Pyrite or Star Bulb recipes also work.
Mainly Aronium (50 Paraffinium and 50 Ionised Cobalt), which feeds Iridesite and the Stasis Device. It also goes into Star Brambles, Exocraft Geobays, the Sphere Creator and the Drift Suspension.
